Lifehouse

You know when there’s a song you’ve heard multiple times or a band you listen to repeatedly and you have an experience that brings a whole new life to the song or band? That’s what happened with me this week when I listened to Lifehouse.

I am a recent fan of Lifehouse and I LOVE their recent album Smoke and Mirrors. I even had the chance to go see their concert after this album came out and it was a blast! So the other night, I had a dream that I personally met the lead singer of Lifehouse, Jason Wade, and was his escort around Utah for a few days. I even had to save him from a crazed fan who kidnapped him and took him to her country home filled with snow globe clocks (still not sure where that came from). Later he came to my house and played with my nephew; it was so cute. When it was time for him to leave he gave me a value size frosty from Wendy’s that was wrapped in pretty paper as a thank you for all my time. Quite a pleasant dream overall.

Anyway, fast-forward to the next day as I sit in a computer lab doing homework while listening to my Switchfoot Pandora station. I had forgotten about my dream but as soon as a Lifehouse song came on I instantly felt happier and excited. I was confused until I looked at the song and realized it was a song of the Smoke and Mirrors album by Lifehouse. It’s amazing how a simple dream could renew my interest in listening to Lifehouse and I wonder if the opposite effect is possible.
